White Beach Bungalows

The bungalows sit on a wooded slope, simply furnished but comfortable. The rooms are lovingly put together, the air conditioning works well, and mosquito protection is provided. Bathrooms are basic by Southeast Asian standards, and there aren't many shelves or boxes. Prices are affordable, and the setting is fairytale-like, with the beach just 30 metres away. White powdery sand, sparkling sea, palms and kangaroo trees give it an idyllic feel. There are comfy loungers and armchairs, and the beach is cleaned daily. Lihan, the attentive manager, brings fresh fragrant towels and quickly sorts out what you need, whether that's a motorcycle or medicine if you're ill. The restaurant is open around the clock and serves fruit shakes, Khmer food, and fresh fish chosen daily for the grill. Dinner is among the best on this stretch of the island. At the beach bar, beer and cocktails make a nice evening; breakfast on the breezy terrace has variety and good coffee, including Americano and latte. Pleasant music and fantastic views make for a nice start to the day. There's also an excellent massage place next door. You can take trips to various destinations, explore underwater life by diving or snorkeling, and enjoy all kinds of water sports. Water and air are both around 28 degrees, so Koh Rong is a beautiful holiday spot at affordable prices.

The staff were so kind and helpful. They helped us rent a motobike, looked after us when I got sick, and even took my partner around town to help translate at the pharmacy. Most things are within walking distance, the food was yummy, and the bed was comfortable. Toiletries were provided too, and I'd stay again. The area was otherwise quiet, though the hostel next door played karaoke until midnight one night.

The villa facing the sea is great, though a bit expensive. The beach is beautiful and the water is clear and clean. It's in a quieter section of the busy road that runs across the jetties.
