I liked the room, its decoration, the food, and the surroundings, and the staff were friendly too. It's such a wonderful hotel that I'll definitely return on my next trip to Cambodia. I heard a new hotel is being built nearby, and I can't wait to try it.
Amberhouse and Ambervilla are both good places to stay in Phnom Pehn. The rooms are clean and nice, with friendly staff, a big flatscreen TV, and a water cooker. They're small and not especially luxurious, but I felt really comfortable there. The WiFi at Ambervilla was a bit poor, though it was free.
For 25 bucks a night I got a good-sized breakfast, tiled floors, a hot shower and bath, AC, a dressing room, TV, and high-speed WiFi. I did see a few roaches in my ground-floor room.
The main house is quite rundown inside and out, and it costs USD 30 per night. Amber Guesthouse 2 and 3 have newer, better interiors.
It's basic, but I like it. For $15 a night you get a good location, kettle, fridge, and air conditioner, and it's clean, clean, clean. I dare you to complain.
