Kirirom Crystal Hotel

For a budget stay of a short duration, it isn't a bad choice. The wifi was quite fast, and most facilities were fine. There's only a small parking area for bikes and cars, perhaps enough for three or four cars. The downsides were slow water and no hot water, especially on higher floors where the flow was weak and the water wasn't warm enough. Breakfast is probably best skipped if you don't mind doing without it. It was messy and dirty, and the vegetables in particular seemed to be in poor condition, as if they'd been stored in the fridge for a while. The hotel is Vietnamese-owned, or at least popular with Vietnamese guests and group tours.

A laid-back hotel with good prices. We were comfortable in our room and it stayed cool, and everyone who helped us was kind. It's close to interesting places and sights. A couple of small things were off: some towels were stained and the lamp didn't work.

The views were the best part. My room was beside a balcony with a pretty great look over the area, and the restaurant on the top floor had an awesome view too. Getting around the building was frustrating. There was just one elevator, so checking out meant waiting a long time or taking the stairs. The restaurant was on the 13th floor, but the elevator only went to 12. From there you had to squeeze up a cramped stairway past people coming down, or walk all the way from your floor. The bathroom was cramped, with the shower right beside the toilet, which got soaked whenever I showered. Also, about five of the six clocks at reception had dead batteries.

We spent four nights at Kririrom Crystal Hotel in Phnom Penh. The room had no windows, which made it feel really bleak, and some of its fittings were in poor shape: the ventilation was broken and the safe had no batteries. Breakfast didn't meet our expectations, so we went somewhere nearby instead. The hotel has potential, but overall I wouldn't recommend it.
