The staff were great, and the rooms were huge, but the hotel felt a bit run-down. My first room had no hot water, so they moved me. The replacement had no cold water! They tried to fix it but said they couldn’t. Since I was only there for three days, I just put up with it. It was cheap, so I’m not complaining.

I spent about two lovely weeks at Casa Hotel near Wat Pnomh. From my room on the 7th floor I couldn’t hear the late night disco, even though it gives the hotel a lively social scene. With that vibe, it seems more suited to single men than families. It’s centrally located near bars and restaurants by Sisiwath Quay, with friendly service, good value, and great views of the river Mekong, a sidearm.

Wat Phnom national park is very close, so visitors needn’t worry about the travel expend. The hotel is in front of a busy neighborhood, though, where both the surroundings and traffic are uncomfortable. Many Chinese tourists stay here. There’s a club with people enjoying nightlife every day, which may bother tourists looking for a fresh and healthy experience in Phnom Penh.
