Queen Mansion

The location worked well for us, and we’d recommend the place for either a short visit or a longer stay. Our one-bedroom apartment on the second floor had a kitchenette and was great. We were only there a few days.

I liked the rooftop, which was clean, and the gym was better than I expected. It’s missing a barbell rack, but for a short stay you can scale your training back a little and still manage solid push, pull, and legs workouts. The pool is a different story: its broken tiles still haven’t been fixed after a year, and many are damaged enough to be a real injury risk. I’m back at Queen Mansion for a second time, in the same apartment I stayed in about a year ago, and none of the problems have been addressed. The light bulb is still out, the shower door still needs oiling, and the air conditioner swings between freezing and off with no comfortable setting in between. I’ve barely slept for three nights because the sound insulation is so poor. I can hear shower doors two apartments away, chairs scraping, and neighbors up at night. Oiling the shower doors and putting pads on chair and table legs would be simple fixes. That’s why I’m giving it a low rating.

Queen mansion kindly offers students a complimentary room for exams. I needed somewhere very quiet, with no one coming in, for my Home-base CSCA exam on 21-12-25. It was comfortable and quiet, so I could take the test without worrying someone might enter.

The location is good, but I felt robbed for what I paid when other places are available. The pool needs renovation, so be careful. The room’s furniture is old, the closet doors don’t close properly, and the bed is just alright. The advertised laundry machines are ancient and broken. When I asked about drying clothes, there was no option, and I was told to find somewhere else. The electricity in the room keeps cutting out, and apparently they don’t know how to fix it. It’s a lot of money for a very bad experience.
