Raffles Hotel Le Royal

We left Raffles Le Royal feeling an extraordinary warmth and sense of belonging. I’ve stayed at several world-class hotels in the past six months, including Six Senses Kyoto, Banyan Tree Higashiyama Kyoto, Four Seasons Hotel Madrid, and Hotel Schweizerhof Luzern, as well as Intercontinental and Ritz-Carlton properties costing over 1,500 USD a night. None gave us the same feeling. The anniversary became a near-perfect experience, and the historic atmosphere, well-trained staff, and fresh, exquisite food all surpassed what I expected. It showed us that legendary hospitality comes from the heart of the service, not the price tag. A special thank you to Sreyny NETH. The upgrade wasn’t confirmed in our initial correspondence, unlike at some other Accor properties, so the surprise on arrival was beyond words. We went from a State Room King Pool View to a magnificent Executive Suite King Bed, a memory we’ll cherish for life. I’m also grateful to Head Butler Adrien PREVOST for arranging Fiona WANG to show us the hotel’s history and room facilities in Chinese, my mother tongue. It was a deeply touching gesture, and Fiona was professional and diligent. I’d also like to ask whether Kanhol YA was the polite, charming gentleman who introduced himself as our butler. If so, please pass on our sincere thanks. The Elephant Bar staff also made the evening memorable with their detailed introduction to the unique Cambodian Gin. Our heartfelt thanks to the whole team for making our wedding anniversary such a special celebration.

We loved our evening at Restaurant Le Royal. The service was exceptional and the food absolutely amazing, a real treat. For breakfast, Le Phnom 1929 was a great spot, with helpful, friendly staff who clearly wanted to please. We also ate there on arrival in the evening and were looked after by a team member called 'Monday' (name Saakaan?), who was wonderful, full of positive energy, and a great ambassador for the hotel. The Gin Bar staff were friendly, fun, and very knowledgeable about the gins, with a selection of about 220. We enjoyed our evening there. The tuk-tuk service was much appreciated too. Everyone at reception was smiling, warm, attentive, and professional, always happy to help and immaculate in uniform. Housekeeping was fantastic, with great cleanliness and attention to detail. The guest relations manager and the Head Butler, a French team member, were incredible. Nothing was too much trouble, and their heartfelt effort to make our stay memorable was very touching. We enjoyed dinner at Restaurant Le Royal, relaxed and tasty, and the wine pairing was reasonably priced. The Elephant Bar cocktails were good too, with nicely sized servings. Breakfast was good, and the rosé champagne was a nice bonus. The elegant but relaxed entrance foyer set a lovely tone. Our rooms were small, but comfortable and well maintained. The spa’s Valentines Day campaign for couples added something extra to our stay. Raffles delivered the sort of visit we’d hoped for, and I’d recommend it.

What stood out most was the professional hospitality. Check-in and service throughout were seamless, warm, and highly professional. Henry deserves a special mention, along with all the staff across the departments, even though we can’t remember everyone’s names. The team upheld the Raffles name, spirit, and long-standing tradition beautifully. The historic building is breathtaking, and the interior design is a feast for the eyes. There’s so much care and attention in every space, and that carries right through to the rooms. The whole stay felt dreamlike and perfect from start to finish. Thank you for an outstanding experience!
