Relax Hotel

I don't trust the staff here and wouldn't recommend staying. There was trouble over money twice with the same long-nailed, frizzy-bonneted character. The first time, it got sorted out by the "manager". When we were leaving, we said we'd pay in the manager's office again, but he kept shouting and pointing. Then he brought out five little men and a little girl from the back, where they'd been messing around, and they tried to fight my son. We could understand him and agreed, but he kept escalating things. I think they may have been drunk back there, since we heard them screeching from the fourth floor. After seeing that group come at us, I didn't want him looking at my card. One of them eventually used some sense and listened to my son, but the rude, long-nailed "man" still told us to get out, as if we'd tried to skip paying $2.50. My son is trained in MMA and has been taught to stay calm, but they pushed him to that point. Those little boys were lucky they were so pathetic, or we would have called the TOURISM POLICE. I've got video of the group trying to start something with me, a grandmother, and my son, and I'll report it to the tourism industry.

The room was okay, and the location was the only good thing. There was a sewer right in front of the hotel. The AC wouldn't cool, and when I asked to switch rooms they said everything was full, even though guests were still arriving. They charged 1.5 USD for a 1.5L water bottle that normally costs only 0.25 USD, and the telephone didn't work.

We had a really bad stay. There is no pool, despite what the pictures show. We were arriving from another country and had no way to contact the hotel directly. We booked through hotel.com, and even they tried to reach relax Hotel three times. Our flight was delayed, so we missed the check-in night. The hotel rebooked our room, but when we got there a day later, they didn't have the room we'd paid for and said it would be ready the next day. It wasn't. Our first night was awful because it was so noisy, and we could hear even a pin drop from the rooms upstairs. They offered no compensation. Just a bad experience.

The room was roomy and cool, with lots of lighting choices, firm pillows, and a small balcony that was nice to have. Reception was quick and friendly, and the staff spoke perfect English. The location is convenient, near other hotels, cafés, convenience stores, and the Genocide Museum. Breakfast was included, though everything tasted very sweet. Inside, though, you can hear everything from the hallway, including footsteps, doors, conversations, and cups clinking. The bathroom had visible mold, and the smoke detector blinked red all night, which was distracting. It's quiet from outside, but the rooms aren't soundproof. The hotel is also near open sewage, which may bother some people. Fine for one night, but I wouldn't stay longer.
