The Artist Residence

The location worked well for me, with everything I needed within walking distance. Staff were friendly, and the service was fine, though nothing special. I had the loft apartment and liked that it was on two floors. The room itself had some issues: the sink leaked, there was no shower curtain or dish soap, and the TV remote didn't work. I'd stay again for a night, but not for a longer, lounge-around kind of stay.

I stayed seven days and three nights, moving between two rooms during that time. The place was dirty, old, and poorly maintained. I asked for fresh bedding and towels and even tipped the cleaners, but nothing was done. The receptionist said they had forgotten. The photos don't look real, like they've been photoshopped. I also believe someone entered the room while people were away and stole money and belongings from a suitcase. I wouldn't recommend staying here for any reason.

The staff were helpful when we checked in, and the rooms were fairly well maintained. It's in a busy area near the Royal palace of Cambodia. The main problem was having no elevator, so we had to climb three floors.

There were no smoke alarms, which made it seem like it could be a fire hazard, and there was no elevator. Getting to a top-floor room means a long climb. The loft stairs are steep and unsafe for elderly people or children, and its guardrail is too low for children. The bed was just an overused mattress on the floor. The bathroom was moldy and musty, so wear flip-flops in the shower.
