The Peninsula Phnom Penh

The main downside was having to travel farther for most attractions and Indian restaurants, since Peninsula Phnom Penh sits across the bridge from the city centre. In return, we had peaceful surroundings and lovely river views away from the city bustle. We really liked the spacious, modern studio apartment, which felt more like a home than a standard hotel room. It was clean, well kept, and had what we needed. Staff were welcoming and helpful, and there was a kids play area near the pool. The rooftop infinity pool was a highlight, with sweeping Phnom Penh views at sunrise and sunset, and a relaxing place to return to after sightseeing. The facilities, atmosphere, and service were above what we expected and added a bit of luxury to our Cambodia trip.

We had a lovely weekend stay at the peninsula and plan to come back. The sky bar food was delicious and the view was amazing. Staff greeted us as soon as we arrived and escorted us to our room, which was clean, attractive, and had nice amenities.

Srang and the rest of the friendly staff made the stay feel like home, and we’d definitely return. Our room was spacious with an amazing view, while the rooftop skybar was another highlight. The setting was quiet and peaceful, and we had a really great time.

The stay had some real positives: the rooftop sky bar served great food, the staff there were attentive, and we appreciated both the kids' play area and the in-room laundry facilities. The room was a little small but otherwise comfortable. On our last day, a drug affected man came into our room without permission in the late afternoon. I had to physically remove him myself. Later, a junky woman associated with him repeatedly banged on our door. With my wife and children there, the incident left us feeling unsafe and vulnerable. I contacted security and management, who responded. I was later told the man had been arrested. Management apologized and gave us a $50 sky bar voucher, which I appreciated. Still, with security staff and cameras around the property, I’m concerned that I had to report and handle this myself instead of it being noticed and dealt with before it reached our room. This overshadowed the good features, and I personally won’t stay there with my family again.
