When I returned because I had no other option for sending a parcel to Japan, the service turned out to be among the best post office experiences I've had. The box reached Japan safely in 6 days, too. The men who helped me were patient, polite, kind, and spoke good English. They carefully weighed and listed everything in the parcel, entered the contents and address details for me, then packed and taped the box quickly, even though the computer system was clunky. There were plenty of staff on hand, perhaps more than necessary, but that worked out fine. My first visit had gone badly, so I was surprised and very glad to have such a different experience this time. I've sent a lot through international carriers and visited plenty of post offices, and this one ranks in my top three. Thanks for the careful help and for changing my impression.

The postcard I sent arrived in under a week. This charming building is in a nice spot, and you can buy postcards, other souvenirs, and stamps there. Some cards already have postage cancellation, while others need stamps, which are very reasonably priced.

Writing postcards here was a nice break from the heat. The huge post office is cool inside, sparkling clean, and has tables where you can sit and fill out your cards. The building itself is gorgeous, with French-inspired architecture and plenty of historic charm. The staff were a real highlight. Everyone I dealt with was smiling, helpful, and spoke perfect English. They helped me choose and attach stamps, and answered my tourist questions. Sending a card to Europe cost 4,000 Riel each, a great price. I hope they arrive in 2-4 weeks, but I was happy with the service either way. A lovely place to mail something special or just take in the atmosphere. The team was wonderful and efficient.

If you collect stamps, don't miss this place. It's a beautiful old French building, and the very nice ladies who speak English sell a huge range of modern commemorative stamps. They were patient and helpful while I chose mine. They also have gifts and can help with postcards.

My mom sent me a package from the United States with $75 worth of goods, and I had to go all the way to the post office to collect it. Three people who arrived after me were helped and left before I was. After 30 minutes, I was told I owed $20 in customs tax, with no explanation. That's 27% on some bed sheets, a few packs of Goldfish crackers, and a Christmas ornament. I won't do that again.
