White Mansion

The rooms at The White Mansion Boutique Hotel – Phnom Penh were spacious, comfortable, and beautifully kept, a peaceful place to come back to after sightseeing. It’s an elegant old hotel, with a café and restaurant worth a special mention. The coffee and bakery items are among the best around, breakfast and lunch keep the place buzzing, and all-day room service is a real plus. There’s also a spa and pool, and the staff are warm. The thoughtful service and amenities make it work well for leisure or business. We spent two nights here and loved it. The location is central and makes exploring easy. Nearby are Techo International Airport, the fairly new and fascinating SOSORO “Money” Museum, like Australia’s Mint, with guided tours available; Tuol Sleng Genocide Museum, where I highly recommend the English audio guide to appreciate the history; and the Royal Palace and Silver Pagoda, where guided tours bring the royal traditions, ceremonies, and artefacts to life. The weekend evening street market is a must visit, with endless food stalls, souvenirs, clowns, and possibly one of Southeast Asia’s longest night markets. We’d highly recommend this stylish, comfortable, welcoming hotel and wouldn’t hesitate to stay again. If Google had a six-star rating, it would deserve it.

We spent five days at the White mansion Boutique Hotel in Kampot in February. The rooms are spacious, the staff are friendly and helpful, and the breakfast is excellent. It’s well located for walking to the main sights. A very nice hotel, highly recommended.

After around 20 stays here since the Covid pandemic, it still feels like staying with family. The staff are friendly and helpful, and the hotel and rooms have a distinctive design with a quiet, luxurious atmosphere. They keep up maintenance throughout the property. For me, it's the best choice in this area.

The historic feel is what makes White Mansion Boutique Hotel stand out in Phnom Penh. It was once the U.S. ambassador’s residence during the troubled 1970s, and you can sense the building’s past in its preserved architecture and calm courtyard atmosphere. It has a character you don't get from a generic modern hotel. There’s also the comfort and service you'd hope for from a boutique stay, along with a wonderful pool. A special place if you care about heritage and atmosphere.
