Farmhouse Resort & Spa

We got to see several industries run by the organisation, along with local small businesses, including a palm sugar farmer. The organisation’s work is impressive. The place also has a bit of Swiss hospitality, and everything felt top notch. I went with friends in 2023, when it was still in its early days. It was a really nice place to unwind, and I’d like to visit again.

The spa was a real highlight for me. The treatments were professionally done, very relaxing, and took place in a calm setting. There was good food and plenty of comfortable spaces to unwind, all in a beautiful natural environment with greenery and fresh air. My room at Farmhouse Resort & Spa was clean, comfortable, and thoughtfully arranged. The staff were attentive and caring, which made the stay feel personal. From the moment I arrived, the peaceful atmosphere was clear, and everything seemed well looked after. It’s a lovely spot for couples, families, or anyone who needs a break from a busy routine. I’d recommend it for a restful stay surrounded by nature.

The hard mattresses were the one thing that kept us from getting a restful night. Still, we had a lot to enjoy during our three nights at Smiling Gecko. The food was outstanding, with a good range and prices that felt reasonable for the quality. We also borrowed mountain bikes for free and rode into the nearby village and surrounding area one afternoon. It felt very safe. The grounds were beautiful and exceptionally peaceful, with two pools and stilt houses used for some of the bedrooms. There’s also a roughly 5 km route around the hotel and farm, a quiet way to start the day. The gym was the best we tried in Cambodia, and the farm tour with Sim was a highlight. We were welcomed by everyone, from the gardeners and farm workers to reception and the pool bar staff. The charitable work is impressive and seems to be making a real difference in Cambodian communities.

The food was great, thanks to quality ingredients and a talented local Chef. Our room and the facilities were in great shape, with nice touches throughout. The GM and his team managed everything well and did their best to keep our stay comfortable. We’ll be back.
