Ananda's Siem Reap

A heads-up for anyone with mobility issues or lots of luggage: guest rooms start on the second floor, and there’s no elevator. Picasso, the lovely cat who lives on the first floor, is a sweet bonus. The place is clean and spacious, and restaurants, cafés, markets, and spas are all an easy walk away. Ananda and Vireak were quick to respond, thoughtful, and accommodating. Great value, and we had a great stay.

The apartments were clean and roomy, and the location made it easy to get to the riverside night market, Pub Street, and plenty of restaurants. It was quiet too. I loved staying here.

Picasso, their beautiful cat, was a lovely touch. The hotel was quiet and clean, and the location worked well for us. The people working there were exceptionally friendly and helpful, and we enjoyed our stay at Ananda's hotel.

The staff were very friendly, but the room arrangement caused a real problem for us. I had booked two beds because I was traveling with a friend, yet we were given one king bed. There were no twin rooms or rollaway beds available. We were offered a room change for our final night, but with very early mornings and no time to pack, we stayed put. I felt this was unprofessional and that we had been shafted. There’s no elevator, so luggage has to go up and down the stairs. Since this isn’t a hotel and reception is open only from 8am to 8pm, you also have to lock and unlock a padlock on the door when coming and going outside those hours. Breakfast isn’t provided, and there aren’t places open early in the morning. That was inconvenient with the early starts needed for sunrise at the temples and the bike tour. Looking back, I would have booked somewhere with breakfast.
