Bambu Stay

I booked one night and wound up staying for a whole month. The dorm beds felt private and comfortable, and the owners were very friendly and honest. They made the hostel feel like home, and they felt like family to me. I'll never forget the place or the owners. Miss you guys!

The staff were helpful and great, and I liked the quiet location outside the noisy city. The beds were bigger than twin size. Those were the positives for me. There weren't any working bicycles to use, unlike at other hostels. I also got lots of bites despite using a mosquito net and spray, so the beds might have had bed bugs. There was no air conditioning, only a fan, and the showers were quite dirty.

We had a very large, clean double room, and the owner was kind and helpful. He introduced us to a tuk tuk driver we used for a couple of days to visit the temples, and the driver was kind too. The room came with a kettle, powdered instant coffee, and two complimentary bottles of water each day, and the shower had electric heating. The only downsides were finding the place, which was a bit difficult, and some nighttime noise from barking dogs, along with music from nearby temples early in the morning. Otherwise, it was a perfect stay. Highly recommended.

The owners are nice, but the property doesn't look much like the photos anymore. The showers are in poor shape, and one has no hot water. Breakfast is just two slices of white bread and a bun with butter, a small piece of cheese, and jam. Getting other meals is difficult since it's either too late or the cook is away. With more care and effort, this place could be much better.
