Damnak Angkor Resort & Spa

We can't wait to come back, and the kids loved it as much as we did. The hotel's Cambodian architecture and culture, along with its welcoming team, made it the most authentic and friendliest place we've stayed. It also made us rethink booking with big chains, and want to choose hotels owned and run by people from the country we visit. Our room was huge, the bathroom massive, and the whole place felt as tranquil as the Cambodian people. Dinner was excellent and breakfast was good. The spa was beautiful, and I wish I'd booked a treatment since my feet were aching after walking around the Angkor temples. It's only $5 by TukTuk into busy, brilliant Siam Reap. A magical stay, and our favourite hotel from our whole family trip around southeast Asia.

We picked this hotel for the kids' playground and ended up having a great stay as a family. After five days here, we really loved it, and it looked even better in person than in the photos. The room was beautiful and spacious, the pools were lovely, and the grounds were beautiful. The food was delicious and the staff were very attentive. Thanks, team, hope to see you again next time.

The spa stood out, with very good masseurs and a Special Khmer massage that was truly effective. The staff were warm and friendly, and their high level of service came with such grace that it left a lovely memory. Rooms were clean and well appointed, and the whole property, including both pools, was very well maintained. The restaurant was good and breakfast was great, though some people might want a more elaborate spread. Angkor Palace Resort & Spa really fits Siem Reap's culture, people, food, and history, making for a fulfilling stay in a place that's worth experiencing at least once. A memorable family vacation spot.

Safety WARNING ‼️ As a woman, I wouldn't stay here alone. I was at the hotel with my partner, but we split up for five minutes to go to breakfast. My partner left the room around 8:52am while I was still getting ready in the bathroom. A short time later, I heard the door open. It was very quiet and nobody announced themselves, so I thought my partner had come back for something they'd forgotten. When I turned from the mirror, a man in an employee uniform was standing in the middle of the room, looking at me. He didn't move when he saw I'd noticed him. I turned around fully, screamed at him to get out, and only then did he back away and leave the room. I was badly shaken and went straight to reception. The employee there told me to go to breakfast and said they'd check and call the manager. Nobody came back to check on me. I cried, felt very scared, and stayed by my partner's side all day. It was very, very bizarre. There was no reason for anyone to enter at 8:55am on my checkout day, when checkout was at 12:00, without knocking or announcing themselves. The hotel is quite nice and very clean, but I'd rather stay somewhere else than be put in danger. I could have been asleep, in the shower, or just getting out of it. Anything could have happened, and the hotel's lack of care or follow-up made the security concerns even worse.
