Garden House Guesthouse

A secure, convenient no-frills guest house with spacious rooms, working AC, a clean toilet, and a heater and mixer that both worked. There’s no lift or food, and housekeeping was patchy, but the owner was friendly. Shops and restaurants are close, as are Wat Bo pagoda and the riverfront. It’s by the royal residence on route 6, at the first signal toward PP. Pub st., the heritage walk, and Asian supermarket are within walking distance. Recommended.

The rooms are very affordable for the city, and cleaner than I expected. They come with a TV and a small fridge. Nice staff too.

It’s a cheap, very basic guesthouse, but our room was filthy and just about everything failed. The window wouldn’t shut all the way, the fridge stopped working in the middle of the night, and the TV wouldn’t turn on. Staff were not very helpful.

The friendly owner runs this fairly large family guest house, around 30 rooms, with both foreign and Cambodian guests. It’s right off Route 6, easy to find from the airport. Our room was okay, with a large double bed, AC, attached toilet with a big bath tub, hot shower, cupboard, fridge, and TV, though I didn’t use the TV. There’s no breakfast or food at the GH, but plenty of eateries nearby. Housekeeping could be better, and a bicycle pump is available. The location is handy for Wat Bo pagoda, the Royal residence and park, and riverside. The park has groups exercising morning and evening, good for running or aerobics. Amazon, Asian supermarket, Lucky mall, laundries, bicycle rentals, and beer shops are all within walking distance. Pub street, the Art centre, and Night Market are about a 10-minute walk, while Psar Leu is roughly a kilometer away. A supermarket across the road is convenient, though a little more expensive than Psar Leu. Recommended.
