For just over $13 a night, my four-night stay worked out well. The rooms vary quite a bit, and mine had two big beds squeezed in, leaving very little floor space. It was clean enough, though not spotless, and fine for me since I hardly spent daytime in the room. I also chatted with a few people on the large balcony, which is a shared hangout on every floor. I felt safe, and the family were all really nice. There are cameras in the hallway, and I saw solo travelers of different genders as well as couples staying there. My five stars are for the price. Pay more and you should expect more.

I loved the giant gecko outside my room. It was noisy, too, which somehow made me like it more. The bed was comfortable, and for $7 a night I was very happy here. The one hiccup was getting padlocked outside the front gate for about 20 minutes around 12:30 AM. I made enough noise that other guests woke a staff member to let me in. I sometimes work all night, so it may not suit night owls perfectly. Still, I went out and came back between 1 and 5 AM on plenty of other nights without any trouble, so maybe that was a one-off.

The owner was very friendly and the rooms were good. There was some smell from the toilet, though, and a humming, buzzing factory noise in the evening and at night. It was quiet during the day.
