Jaya House River Park Hotel

We’ve travelled a lot, and this is our favorite hotel anywhere. Chris and the team made the location a joy to stay at, with world-class service from people who were helpful and cheerful. It feels like a wonderful place to work. Our room was immaculate and serviced two or three times a day, and the laundry service was a real blessing. If you’re visiting Cambodia, check it out.

I was in Siem Reap for just over a week in the third week of February 2026, after my tour booked several nights here. I’d heard the 2025 Thailand border situation had made people concerned about travel, but it had settled by then. I had no worries or reason for concern while I was in this part of Cambodia. With the current trouble in the Middle East, Southeast Asia seems the safer bet to me. As for the hotel, I’d stay again in a heartbeat. The staff are truly fabulous, the grounds are wonderful, and the hotel itself is gorgeous. The cookies were really good too. Laundry, which I was very grateful for given how Cambodia affected my Midwestern USA sweat glands, and other things like the fantastic spa time were included in the stay with no extra charge. I’ve travelled quite a bit, and that felt completely new to me, though it shouldn’t. One tip: call a day or two before check-in to reserve spa time, since slots fill quickly at certain times of day.

Chris and Team arranged our whole Angkor Wat visit smoothly, including a terrific guide, Lee, who knew hidden spots and shared insights beyond the usual tour. The hotel’s service was warm, personal, and attentive everywhere, and you can tell the staff genuinely care. Our spacious, beautiful room was matched by an extensive, high-quality breakfast, with Eggs Benedict that may be the best in Cambodia. The spa massages were excellent after a long day at the temples. Everything went perfectly from beginning to end.

After 3.5 days here, I’d choose Jaya House over the top hotels we’ve stayed in, including Sofitel’s, Waldorf, Hilton, and Four Seasons. The staff were phenomenal and more attentive than any I’ve experienced. They remembered my cappuccino preference: while I waited for a pickup, someone brought one along with peanuts, both in To Go cups. The bartender quickly learned our favorite drinks, and after our days at Angkor Wat the staff knew when we had massages booked. The owner was around and spoke with guests daily; we even saw him on a Sunday. Complimentary laundry, daily massages, and a fantastic breakfast were all part of the stay. The care shows in the little things too, from the art and statues to the excellent landscaping. I can’t say enough about this hotel. When you’re in Siem Reap, you’ll love staying here as much as we did.
