The gardens and pool were a lovely part of the stay. The large pool sits among carefully tended tropical greenery, with plenty of comfortable loungers and towels. The rooms were spacious and comfortable, too, with a seating area, a bed that wasn’t too firm, and everything kept clean. A few more plates and pieces of cutlery would have been useful. The hotel is in a quiet neighbourhood outside the busy centre, though it takes only about 10 to 15 minutes to walk there. The pavements are generally clear and in good shape. Tuk tuks are easy to find if you’d rather ride, usually costing around 2 to 3 US dollars for trips around town. Reception can help arrange one and offer directions through Google Maps or another navigation app. Rides felt pleasant, with calmer traffic in Siem Reap and better views from Cambodian tuk tuks than the ones we’d experienced in Thailand. The staff were consistently kind and helpful, whether at reception, breakfast, the pool, or housekeeping. They were attentive and happy to chat, which added to the relaxed feel. We booked directly with Koulen Hotel early and got a strong early booking discount with free cancellation. The big booking platforms didn’t match those prices and terms. Airport transfers can also be arranged easily. Everything felt well organised from arrival onward. For a visit to Siem Reap, Koulen Hotel offered us a peaceful stay, comfort, thoughtful service, and convenient access to town.

The staff made the stay especially easy and welcoming. Bo and Salorn were always smiling and ready to help, and gave us a smooth experience. The room was spacious, with a lovely view across the hotel garden and pool. The pool and gym were highlights, and the hotel had several Angkor tour options; we liked the sunrise small tour best. It’s well placed for reaching the city centre and plenty of restaurants and cafes. Angkor Wat was about a 15 minute drive away. I’d highly recommend staying here.

This was our second visit, and celebrating the New Year at Koulen Hotel was a treat. The food and beverage team, Phon Seysa, Park Bonh, Hov Ratha, and Ry Reaksa, made our poolside and cafe time feel like a real vacation. At the front desk, Linn, Dika, and Chhon gave us such warm, capable service. We’ll remember the staff’s kindness. It’s also in a great spot, with everything within walking distance.

Bo and Salorn were so helpful with our transport and tour requests, and the options they arranged were great and well priced. Everyone on staff was friendly and keen to help. We also had a great massage in the hotel spa. Breakfast was delicious, especially the noodle bar, and our room was quiet and roomy, with comfortable beds. The garden and pool were lovely places to unwind. Highly recommend.

We had a lovely family stay, thanks in large part to the warm welcome and really good service from the staff. Breakfast was all fresh and tasty, and something we’ll miss. Hun’s massages were a real treat. We’d love to return. Thanks, everyone.
