lodestar Hostel Siem Reap

We were out most of the day, so the dark room wasn't a huge issue, but its window faced a brick wall only about 2 meters away. The room was very basic and had lots of mosquitoes. It was cleaned daily, and the air-conditioning was OK. The location is good and breakfast is cheap. Some staff were friendly, while others seemed burdened by having guests.

The room price was reasonable and included breakfast and WiFi. Staff were polite and the service was great. We could order good food and drinks at the ground-floor restaurant, which looks out onto greenery. The place is in town, about a five-minute walk from Pub Street, with local shops, restaurants, and laundry services nearby. I stayed here about five months ago too.

The owner tells lovely stories in the evenings, and the place is close to the city centre. Rooms are clean, and there’s a pool and a bar with cheap beer. What more do you need? :)

Breakfast was a big part of the stay: juice, coffee or tea, butter, homemade jams, eggs cooked as an omelette, fried, or scrambled, and fresh fruit. Really yummy. The Old Market is only about five minutes away. Recommended.
