Montra Nivesha Angkor Boutique Residence

The four of us, including our young adult children, all agreed this was the best hotel we’ve ever stayed in. We loved the food and the warm welcome from everyone, from reception to the cleaners, and we really didn’t want to leave. The calm decor, poolside plants, colours, and ornaments throughout the corridors and rooms made it feel comfortable and far removed from busy life. Maybe it was the low season in August or the quiet feel of Siem Reap, but we felt like the only tourists around. That suited us, since we wanted somewhere rural and as if we were in the middle of nowhere. A little paradise.

We paid a very reasonable price, and the location never caused us any trouble. Our guides collected us in the lobby, or the concierge called a taxi that met us there. The room was clean, comfortable, nicely decorated, and had plenty of room to hang or fold clothes. There’s also a massage facility on the property. The lobby, room, and restaurants were the best we found during our three weeks in Japan and Cambodia. The hotel staff were great, and the restaurant staff even better.

The spa was the highlight of my stay, thank you again, Thavry! The hotel is beautiful, the rooms are spacious, and the service was outstanding. My one problem was the shower: it didn’t drain, so water spread across the bathroom floor.

Montra Nivesha feels like a quiet retreat from the busy town outside. The architecture and planting are lovely, and the staff and country are beautiful too. It’s a real gem, and I’ll come back.
