It smelled musty, and the room they showed us had no windows or AC, just a low bed on the floor and a fan. We took one look, left our reservation, and spent the night elsewhere. Our taxi driver knew a nearby place that was 1000 times nicer for a few bucks more. This is basically a converted house with no lobby or real hotel facilities, and the rooms are very small and bare. I’d stayed in hostels much nicer than this. I had a bad feeling when they ignored my emails asking about the free airport shuttle listed on their website and the booking sites. Don't do it.

The staff at "bun kao" were friendly and dependable, and I decided to stay there. This hotel had already collapsed, and there was no air conditioner.

Disgusting and revolting. There were dozens of dead roaches in the hallways, and I had to share my bed with gigantic flying Cambodian roaches.

We lasted about an hour and a half before leaving with our valuables. When we returned after finding another hotel, our suitcases looked slightly changed. The rooms for our four-person booking had rat droppings, cockroaches beneath the bed, and dead beetles all over. There was no running water or Wi-Fi, and the floor was just tablecloths stuck onto wood. This felt genuinely dangerous, to the point where sleeping outside without a tent seemed like a real option. The worst place. Don't be fooled by photos of a pool or third floor, they don't exist. If you're tempted to think you're not fussy, read this three times so you don't regret it later.
