Tropical Breeze Guesthouse

The listing said air conditioning was included, but on arrival the older woman kept insisting I hadn't paid for it. She argued even though her own listing said otherwise, then gave us a room with a broken fan. Avoid this place unless you have no other choice.

The rooms are reasonably decent for backpackers, but I wouldn't suggest this place if you're carrying heavy luggage since there are no elevators. I stayed one night. When booking, I saw they offered a free one-way pickup or drop-off, but they didn't provide it. The contact number listed on makemytrip wasn't valid either. You can find better rooms for the same price.

I couldn't sleep at all because dogs around the area barked all night. In the early morning, there was music from a temple, and the staff were cleaning rooms noisily. Before checking in, I asked the owner if it was a quiet area and whether there would be sounds or noise. She said it was quiet. I'm angry about what felt like an obvious lie.

The extras made this weeklong stay especially convenient: you can request room cleaning, rent a motorbike or bicycle at a good price without leaving your passport as a deposit, arrange laundry, or get tour and onward travel tickets. Our room was roomy and clean, and the ceiling fan kept us comfortable. There was air conditioning for an extra fee, but we didn't need it in the pleasant weather. When we wanted to cool off, the clean pool was great. We really enjoyed staying here and would recommend it.
