If you can sleep through nightclub noise, this place might work for you. It’s cheap, in a good location, and the staff are lovely. But besides the noise, there were cockroaches, dirty linens, and no sink.

I paid extra for a room "with window" because I wanted fresh air, but right outside it was another abandoned room occupied by homeless people. They drank and talked loudly until 5am on both nights I was there, so opening the window was impossible. My room was very dirty, like the rest of the hotel. Even the alley looked abandoned. I book more of 30 budget hotels around all asia per years, and I’d never seen anything like that.

There was no washbasin in the cheapest room I had, though the hot water shower was excellent. The staff were very friendly and tried hard to help, but they speak ZERO English. They gave me the WiFi code when I checked in, but it was impossible to understand the travel information. The restaurant out front is very nice.

The restaurant feels classy and is only a few meters from the beach, though most of the menu is pricey. I liked the chicken with peanut sauce and the ice cream. The ham and pineapple pizza tasted sour, maybe because the cook used fresh pineapple slices, which I didn’t like. One waiter was very impolite. We ordered 2 ice cream and fried chocolate cake for dessert, and he brought them straight away. I politely asked him to serve them later, after the main meal, but he gave me a big smirk and looked unwilling while doing as asked. For me, that’s a no.. no! 👎👎👎 He should be taught the basics of being a food server.
