Marriott's St. Kitts Beach Club

The staff were exceptionally kind and helpful, and we liked the three pools. Those were the bright spots in a stay that felt closer to a two-star experience than the five-star Marriott timeshare we traded. We were very disappointed, especially given what we expect from Marriott. The rooms need renovation and feel dated. There’s no hot tub on the property, just an old-fashioned jetted tub in the rooms. We were told our room had a partial ocean view, but the ocean was only visible in a distant sliver. The resort also isn’t on a beach you can swim at. A corporate incentive group of 700+ guests was there during our stay. It seemed to get priority, with noisy events each night and frequent takeovers of the lobby, pools, and outdoor spaces that restricted access for other guests. Getting around the property was frustrating too. You can’t easily walk or drive to your room, and if you have luggage or groceries, you have to call the front desk for a golf cart. The resort currently doesn’t match the quality or experience I’d expect from a Marriott.

The rooms had plenty of space, though they felt dated. Housekeeping did a wonderful job, and the staff were very friendly. My main concern was upkeep in a hotel that’s 20 years old. The bathtub stopper was broken, so we could only shower, and the showerhead needed replacing.

The beach was deep, and the lounge chairs were comfortable. The staff were pleasant and helpful the whole time. Still, I wouldn’t recommend staying here if you’re counting on a quiet visit. A corporate group of 700 was there for a week. Several nights, their karaoke and band parties in a designated lobby area were so loud that we could only use the lobby to pass through. On two nights, parties in an outdoor area could be heard across much of the resort. We’d called before booking to ask about noise or other disruptions and were told there’d be nothing to disturb us. When we raised the issue during our stay, staff said nothing could be done. I was extremely disappointed. You could face the same kind of large group without warning, even if you call ahead.

It was my first time visiting St. Kitts, and I had a great time. Everyone was welcoming and friendly. Our timeshare was beautiful, and there was plenty to do, including several restaurants, a casino, and three pools. We visited in November and didn’t have any trouble with sargassum seaweed. We’ll definitely return.
