Andong Park Hotel

The manager was very helpful, and the hotel was clean throughout. The rooms are basic, with hard beds, a window, and air conditioning, but that worked for us since we spent the days sightseeing. It’s good value for a place to sleep, and I’d stay again. The old markets and food street are walkable. We came by bus from Seoul, then took a local bus for about 25 minutes from the intercity terminal; the stop for the hotel is roughly a two-minute walk away.

I was there in February, and the floor heating kept the main room really warm. The toilet is in a separate room and gets cold, but the warmth elsewhere made up for that. The hotel is dated, though for the price I have no complaints. Restaurants and cafes are an easy walk away.

The staff were helpful and friendly, and gave me an English map of local restaurants along with the bus timetable for nearby sights. It’s also only a short walk to the 210 bus stop for Hahoe hanok village, which is well worth visiting. The room was huge, clean, and great value, with Android and Apple chargers, a flat-screen TV, BBC, and a few English-language movie channels.

The front desk person was nice, and the place is foreigner-friendly. It’s an old hotel, so the rooms feel old too, with a garlic smell and a somewhat stuffy, closed-up air. Still, it’s clean and basic, and the price and location are good. Don’t expect too much.
