Best Western Asan Hotel

If Google let me, I'd give this place 10 stars. I used Best Western often in the US, and when I came to Korea I searched for it and found a hotel with the same name here in Asan. Here's my detailed take. The hotel is a large apartment-style building. I arrived late at night, and the staff were very kind and showed me around. The room was neat and clean, as was the bathroom, and the towels were very clean too. The blue carpet looked neat throughout the lobby, hallways, and even the guest rooms. Parking was free, with an underground lot and security for hotel guests. Breakfast was a very reasonable 18,000 won per person. The food was great, well seasoned, and there was a lot of it, with simple Korean and Western dishes, drinks, and bread. It was much better quality than anything I've found in the United States. There was a dedicated shuttle bus, apparently transporting people for a contracted company. A smoking area is outside on the first floor. There were lots of signs in Japanese, and it seemed like many foreigners visit. I woke up to green nature outside. I think I'll come here whenever I need some quiet healing. The room was large and quiet, with a firm queen bed, but it had a lingering sanitizer smell that ventilation didn't clear. The free slippers were comically small on my US size 9 feet. It's a new, clean hotel with plenty of underground parking. There was a 120V outlet, and the broadband speed was fine for most things, measuring 33Mbps down and 14Mbps up to a server in Boson, MA, USA. There's a separate radiant floor heating control, but it didn't work in late October. Maybe it's only enabled seasonally. The floor is vinyl flank flooring. Breakfast is available at the hotel, despite what the BW official website description says. It costs KRW 18,000, about USD $13, and is mostly Korean food. I liked it, and it starts at 6:30am. There's also a GS25 convenience store next to the hotel. I'd give the place 5 stars if it weren't for that smell.

A nice, new hotel with good quality. I don't understand why some services were closed on Sunday while guests were still staying there.

The rooms felt roomy, and I liked the apartment-style setup. The staff were friendly too.
