Brown-dot Hotel Haeundae

Lots of entertainment, food, and convenience stores are within walking distance, and the train station is very close. Staff were friendly and helpful. But construction was going on across from the hotel during our stay, and housekeeping kept forgetting to replace items like laundry pods and other utility kits. Some rooms have washing machines but no dryer. There's a free laundry room in the basement car park, with washing powder provided. The lift doesn't go down there, so you'll need to take the stairs. Washing and drying in that room is quicker, with bigger machines and a dryer that does a great job, leaving things hot and crispy. The price still felt steep for a small hotel.

I booked a free cancellation stay on booking.com and cancelled before the deadline, but the hotel didn't issue a full refund. I couldn't find any clause in the cancellation terms saying they could keep part of the payment. I emailed them on 21 Dec and haven't heard back. There's no official website or another way to contact them. I consider that dishonest business, and I strongly recommend not staying here.

For an affordable stay, this is one of the best hotels I've tried.

The value is hard to beat at 1000 RMB per person each night, especially if you don't need a sea-view room. I rarely give a hotel five stars, but this one earned them. There are some handy details in the room: electric curtains and an electric bed, plus a hairdryer with strong airflow. The bathroom's hot water comes through quickly and has good pressure. There's a little entry space to put slippers, and you can get unlimited water on the first floor.
