For what it costs, it’s hard to find anything close. In Australia I’d probably pay ten times as much for this kind of stay. The place is huge, from the big foyer and halls to the long corridors, wide doorways, and fast lifts. It’s built into a mountain, which gives it a Bond villain feel, and the whole atmosphere adds to that strange impression. The rooms are really good, with cold air conditioning, a fridge, comfortable beds, and plenty of darkness and quiet. The bathrooms are excellent, and the shower might be the best hotel shower I’ve ever had. Breakfast was good, and there’s also a Maccas five minutes away on foot. It’s nothing like what I’d call a youth hostel, which is such a strange name for this unique, unusual place.

The facilities are new, and the room was big enough and clean. The staff were nice and could speak English. This place is called GRAND MOMENT YOUTH HOSTEL, though it looks like a wedding hall. Laundry and drying each cost 2,000 won per use. Breakfast wasn’t worth what I expected.

Clean, spacious rooms for only $50 a night. The price is hard to beat. It’s fairly new, with a huge free parking lot, and the beach and other popular spots are about a 10-minute drive away. There’s no convenience store, market, or restaurant here, though, and just one nearby McDonald’s.

A wonderful wedding hall.

Worth recommending.
