Hotel Aria Seomyeon

The noisy back alley was a big drawback. It's popular with young people, and it was still lively around 3 a.m., so I wouldn't pick this for a quiet, restful stay. The hotel is close to the station, with lots of restaurants and entertainment nearby. The receptionist was friendly, but I found the hotel itself disappointing. If that kind of place doesn't bother you, it may suit you, though I'd think twice about choosing it just because it's cheap. We were a family of four in two rooms. I'll describe mine. It looks like a love hotel because it is one, apparently in a building used for two purposes, and condoms were included among the amenities. It's tucked into a back alley and a bit hard to locate. A Ministop could help as a landmark. We couldn't find the address on the map, but a policeman passing by showed us the way. A woman at reception checked us in. She seemed to understand Korean and only a few words of English. If breakfast is included, you may be able to pick it up there. We didn't get any, but that was my impression. The room was very spacious, with a queen bed and a single bed. The queen sheet had a hole, so I covered it with one of the four pillows to sleep. There were two desktop computers, useful for looking up local information, and the TV started on what seemed to be a promotional video. Switching channels brought up regular local programs. The lights and air conditioning also worked from the remote, so use it calmly. The toilet and bathroom walls were mosaic glass, and you could see the occupants' silhouettes. The toilet had no lock, which felt uneasy. The bathroom had a bathtub and a separate shower area, but the shower and sink were awkwardly placed behind the tub. The sink got soaked after showering. Shampoo, conditioner, soap, a hair dryer, and two towels per person were provided, though the towels weren't really bath mats. There was no bathroom door, so filling the tub made the room damp. Other overseas reviews mentioned cockroaches and mosquitoes. There was mosquito repellent in the room, and I was bitten twice by a mosquito at the front desk in late October. The windows were double-glazed, but the inner one was covered with a black sheet, blocking the view. You could look outside by opening the curtains, though the view was of the back alley, and there were no curtains.

Right in the city center, and there's a bathtub where you can relax with a bath bomb.

On Saturday it was 80,000 won. I could hear the next room's steamy sounds quite clearly because the soundproofing wasn't good.

The nearby red-light district makes it noisy.
