Hotel Kyungsung

We had a spacious top-floor room for three, with a separate lounge and dining area, plus a large terrace for getting some air. The road was quiet at night even though there were plenty of bars and restaurants nearby. The staff were really friendly. A brief power cut was fixed right away, and they brought us a bottle of wine to say sorry. I’d definitely stay again in Busan.

Seomyeon is a fantastic base, and the hotel is right in the middle of it. Our room was clean, comfortable, and roomy. The one annoyance was the curtains: sunlight got in every morning and woke us up.

The room was compact but cleverly laid out, with a spot for everything. Housekeeping even left toiletries outside when we had the “Do Not Disturb” sign on. We felt more at home here than at pricier, higher-rated places, and the staff clearly paid attention to the details. The hotel sits in a busy part of Busan, with the subway easy to reach. The area is basically a red-light district, and the streets can be untidy, but we still enjoyed our stay. There are lots of restaurants within walking distance, and Ten Percent Coffee nearby was great. One thing to plan around: the lift is small and gets crowded near checkout. There can also be a queue downstairs to leave luggage, so checking out at the last minute may take longer. Thanks to everyone there for making us feel so well looked after.

The shower water would suddenly get hot enough to burn, which kept this from being a five-star stay. Otherwise, the recent renovations left the place looking clean and nice. I liked the heated floors, A/C, decor, amenities, smart TV, and especially the huge tub. The location was good too.
