Gwanganli Hotel Ocean View

I paid for the corner suite with a balcony and large windows, rather than the basic suite. The view, balcony, and area were the main highlights, and the suite itself was nice enough. My scores: cleanliness 8/10, aroma 3/10, service 6/10, hotel quality 6, photo accuracy 7/10. There was a strong sewage smell from the bathroom, and because the suite was small, it spread through the whole space. I bought air freshener at olive young and had to keep spraying it. I’ve noticed bad, possibly pipe-related bathroom smells at hotels in Asia before. A nicer hotel in Seoul had a toilet smell too, but it wasn’t as strong as this one. I’m in Vietnam now and notice it slightly in my bathroom as well, so maybe it’s just an Asia thing, I don’t know. I’d recommend this place if you’re on a budget, since the suite itself was nice. We left at midnight after finding bedbugs. The manager wouldn’t refund that night even though we didn’t stay because of them. He either didn’t know what bedbugs were or didn’t care. We got a refund for all but one night, which is ridiculous. We should have received a full refund, and I’ll contact my credit card company to get the charge back. Don’t stay here. If you do for some reason, check the bed carefully.

The view is great and the location is handy, with decent value too. Finding the right entrance was a little confusing because there's an identical building next door. Check carefully at the elevator lobby so you know you're in the right one.

For a reasonable price, the hotel was clean and comfortable. The only snag was that the receptionist didn't speak English, but Google Translate did the job 😅.
