Hotel The Mark Haeundae

There's lots of choice at breakfast, and the food is delicious. You can have continental items, but I'd encourage visitors to try one of the two soups served each day with rice, along with the fish cakes, sweet and sour pork with onion, and all the vegetable dishes. The kindest lady in Korea welcomes you with a smile every morning and carefully explains the food. The hotel is close to both the seaside and the market, with plenty of shops around.

The location is very close to the beach and convenient for getting to the east side of busan. But the room was expensive for its quality. We booked a suite for four and got provisions for only three. The floors also felt dusty all the time, and the car park was hard to find with awfully small spaces.

The room has a heated wooden floor, and you can adjust its temperature as well as the bathroom water temperature. There’s also a kitchenette with a microwave, washing machine, electric kettle, and gas stove. Breakfast was included and good, with Korean and/or European choices and tasty coffee. The hotel is near supermarkets, the beach, and a metro station. Walking to the railway station takes about 25-30 minutes.

The location was the only good thing for me. I stayed at mark hotel in 8/2022, and it felt more like a 2 star hotel than a 4 star one. It shares the building with four other hotels, has no entrance of its own, and shares elevators with other businesses. There are only two elevators, so waits get very long at peak times. The room outlets seemed underpowered, the TV kept switching off, and the electricity was too weak to charge iPads. One man at reception was very unfriendly, with no greetings and short answers in a rude tone. The women at the desk were friendly and helpful. There must be a lot of fake reviews here…
