Wood House Hotel

The café downstairs was a nice spot to unwind after a long day out, and Busan Station was easy to reach by a single bus with no transfers. The hotel is just a couple of minutes on foot from Gwangalli Beach one way and the metro station the other. It was clean and comfortable, and the host was incredibly sweet and kind. There's a simple breakfast included too. For the price, I think it's really good value, and I'd recommend it.

I had such a peaceful time here on my own. It's simple, calm, homely, and affordable, with chill vibes, and I barely saw other guests. The room has a queen bed and enough floor space for luggage, just right for one person. Wi-Fi worked smoothly for Zoom meetings in both the room and café. The host is a friendly lady who doesn't speak English. She used gestures to remind me to wear warmer clothes before heading out in winter, like a sweet aunt. She makes a great green tea latte and kindly let me check in early without charge. That was a rare exception, so let the hotel know if you'll arrive before 3 pm so someone can open the door. Usually the hotel and café doors stay locked and need a guest passcode. Fresh towels and bottled water came daily, and toiletries were provided at check-in. The train station, convenience stores, and other amenities are all walkable. It's within a 10-minute walk of Gwangili Beach, Olive young, and restaurants. There's no lift, but the host arranged a second-floor room, so carrying my luggage upstairs myself wasn't a problem. I'd recommend it for solo travellers looking for good value, cleanliness, a friendly host, and a handy location. It's a basic place that works well if your budget is really tight.

We weren't able to stay because we were turned away for bringing bicycles. The hotel cancelled our booking, even though our bikes were in clean bike bags, and didn't help us find a place to park them. In nine months of travelling across several countries, this has never happened to us. They offered no help or solution, so I wouldn't call this a bicycle-friendly hotel. The location is nice, and both reception and the café feel cosy. The rooms are clean and not too small.

The lady who runs the hotel was friendly and helpful, and the service was excellent. My room was very clean, and I even got a notification when it was ready. Breakfast is free, and they let you leave your luggage if you've checked out early but your train or bus isn't until later. It's right down the road from famous gwangali beach, with buses running just outside. I'd definitely stay here again.
