Hotel Asia

The owner was kind to us, especially since we’d come a long way, and even let us see the room beforehand. Breakfast was simple, bread, boiled eggs, coffee, milk, and juice. The VIP room was huge, with plenty of space for three of us to sleep comfortably on a king-size bed and a super single. It also had two computers, a dehumidifier, and a roomy bathroom with a whirlpool tub. The facilities are average and not the newest, but it’s decent for a short stay at a reasonable price. We stayed there on a family trip. Dongdaegu Station is a little over a 10-minute walk away. Finding it was a bit tricky at first, though once we walked through the area, we saw it was full of motels. You just go straight from the main entrance of Shinsegae Department Store. Seems like a good option if you’re heading to Palgongsan Mountain early or traveling from Dongdaegu Station.

It’s cheap, and the facilities feel cheap too. Things were unclean, broken, and inconvenient. I’d rather pay more for a better room with a TV, bidet, refrigerator, and the like.

The bedding was dirty and had hair on it, despite the high price. I’d booked a special room, but even the basic sink was missing. Then at 2:30 in the morning they called to ask whether I’d really paid. How would I have gotten into the room with my key if I hadn’t? They asked for a receipt and I gave it to them. If I hadn’t paid by card and had no receipt, I could’ve been ripped off. This is a motel, not a hotel, and a terrible one. I don’t want to come back.

Being close to Dongdaegu Station was handy, but the room was a problem. I chose a room with two beds, and one of them couldn’t be used because water kept dripping from the air conditioner right above it.
