Gunsan Hotel Box

Had a good stay on my work trip, and it was reasonably priced. 🙂

The staff were friendly, and there are a convenience store, Korean restaurant, and karaoke room within a two-minute walk. The property has two parking areas, one indoors and one outdoors. I booked a twin and single bed room through Yanolja for 55,000 won on Friday, then paid another 15,000 won when I arrived because I had a child. The room was clean, but a draft made it a bit chilly in the early morning even with the heat on. On weekdays breakfast is Korean food; on weekends they serve toast, soup, and fruit.

The location worked well, with restaurants within walking distance and IsCathedral less than a 10-minute drive away. For the price, the facilities and breakfast service were good, and I’d stay at Hotel Box again next time I visit Gunsan. My room was tidy and well cleaned. The bed was soft, the bedding felt fresh, and the heated mat kept me cozy enough to sleep soundly. Hot water worked well in the bathroom, and I liked having an air purifier in the room. Breakfast is served from 7:20 to 9:00 a.m. Korean food is offered Tuesday through Friday morning, while cup noodles and boiled eggs are provided from Saturday through Monday.

Room 701 had a king bed with a table beside it. It was clean overall, and there was a hair dryer for taking care of clothes. Breakfast was included, a simple Korean meal that suited a business trip.
