Gunsan Riverhill Hotel

I booked this place after seeing the good reviews, but came away really upset. They sent me to the annex instead of the main building. It might have been nice in the 80s, but now it looks worn down, with broken tiles and a smell like an old karaoke bar. It’s outside the city center, and even around 8 PM the places to eat were closed, so I had to wander around to find food. The cordless kettle was rusty and covered in grime. Worst of all, the bathroom was tiny, and the drain pipe inside carried the sound of water from upstairs so loudly.

The rooms weren’t soundproof, so I could hear people communicating next door?... The heating didn’t work, and even with an electric blanket on the bed, the air was cold and the bed was uncomfortable. I couldn’t sleep all night. Sir, please change my room...

The location and view are nice, and it’s quiet, but the whole building smelled musty and seemed quite old. I thought it might be hard to get breakfast, but I had added it for 8,000 won. The menu was a bit disappointing.

I’d read a lot of reviews saying the place was really old, so it turned out better than I expected. Still, the price feels a bit high for the facilities. The restroom layout on the annex’s 6th floor was especially strange: there was just one toilet in the stall, and my knees touched the door when I sat down.
