Gyeongju Hotel Gonggan

The location worked out well for us, with restaurants and convenience stores nearby and the bus terminal only a short walk away. Laundry is available for 2,000 KRW a load, which was useful while traveling light. Everyone was kind and welcoming, and the breakfast each morning had a generous range: cereal, eggs, ham, bread, yogurt, fruit, plus ramen if you fancy something warm and savory. It helped us get the day started. I'd especially recommend coming during cherry blossom season. It's beautiful and adds a little magic to the trip. A great place to stay while visiting Gyeongju.

The family room was a squeeze for four, though it would be more comfortable for two. It was clean and neat, and breakfast was generous, with free-flow ramen, eggs, bread, fruit, yogurt, cereal, orange juice, and milk. The kitchen was well equipped. On level 1 there are two washers and two dryers. We found the hotel about five minutes on foot from the interstate bus terminal, with bus stops nearby for getting to attractions. There's also a traditional market around five minutes away, where we picked up local food, fruit, and fried chicken. We had a great BBQ pork dinner at a nearby restaurant. We visited Bulguksa Temple, Seokgurum Grotto, Tongiljeon, Chilburam Hermitage, and Gyeongju National Museum. Across the river from the bus terminal, white cherry blossoms lined both sides of the road for a few kilometers. Thanks to the gentleman at the counter for all his help and for making the stay wonderful.

The rooms were a good size, with effective air conditioning, and the hotel was comfortable and good value. It's very walkable, just four minutes from the intercity bus station. Breakfast was nice, and bikes and laundry facilities were available to use.

The place was comfortable, clean, and quite close to lots of tourist attractions. Reception and the rest of the staff were friendly. Highly recommend!
