The Marine Pool Villa

The owner was attentive to all the little details, which helped make our stay a wonderful memory. We loved the beautiful ocean view and all the pension had to offer. The room, bedding, and dishes were incredibly clean, and we had fun in the lukewarm pool. The unlimited meat and side dishes were delicious, too. I'd highly recommend this place for a stay in Gampo.

The owners were friendly, and the private pool was bigger than I expected and warm enough for my child to swim all day, even in the rain. The room itself looked much smaller than it did on the website, though it was clean. There are ocean views from all rooms, but some have sheets over the pool window that block the view completely. There were plenty of insects, perhaps because it's a clean area. It's over 30 minutes to attractions like Gyeongju Bomun. Some costs weren't clear to me: hot water is listed as free, but if you book through Naver, it's an extra charge per night. The rate covers two adults, and there's another fee for a child under 36 months. For 30,000 won, the barbecue set includes meat, side dishes, and rice, but bring your own alcohol and other drinks. A simple brunch is also available for 10,000 won per person.

The side dishes were better than I expected, and the staff were friendly, but the room wasn't cleaned well. The scissors had red seasoning on them, the tongs were dirty, and there was water in the coffee pot when I checked it to make cup ramen. The door was really annoying because it wouldn't open properly and should probably be replaced. I couldn't really believe the claim that they drain, clean, and refill the pool with warm water every morning. There was a float near it, and I wondered if it was just catching foreign substances. The pool smelled strongly of disinfectant. The meat changed a lot between refills. The first pork neck refill was tender and tasty, while later meat had a lot of blood in it and was tough and tasteless.

The facilities were clean, and the reasonable price was a plus. With the pool and spa right by the ocean, my family and I could relax and enjoy the view more comfortably at the hotel. The ocean scenery was amazing. ^^
