Gyeongsan Grand

The excellent soundproofing meant I didn't hear noise, even though the area is packed with motels and has an entertainment-district feel. I came looking for a nearby stay because I had training at the Gyeongsan Mind Charging Counseling Cafe, and found this motel hotel-quality inside and out. A double room was just 40,000 won for the night, which felt incredibly affordable. It was a nice place to relax and binge-watch Netflix. If I'm in Gyeongsan again, I'll definitely stay here.

For a date at a reasonable price, this was a good pick, with a cleaner and prettier interior than the motels nearby. The electric blanket on the bed was set to 2, and it got too hot, so I'd suggest turning it down to the lowest setting. There's only one computer and its performance was disappointing. The TV experience was a little less enjoyable than at other motels.

The nearby Oksan 2nd District food street is only a three-minute walk away, and parking is plentiful: above ground, in the basement, and in the open lot beside the building. For a motel, the interior feels more like a hotel. Weekend rates are about 5,000 to 15,000 won less than similar-standard motels in downtown Daegu.

We'd already paid for two nights, so being sent back to the underground lot really upset me. They said another guest needed to use the first-floor parking, even though there were plenty of spaces there. We paid for our stay too. It felt like they were treating us like crap.
