Hotel Cacao

I stayed four nights, and the affordable price and friendly staff weren’t enough to make me want to return. The room condition and the lack of proper non-smoking options were disappointing. I’d booked a non-smoking room, but was told none were available when I arrived. The room I got had cigarette ash on the floor and smelled strongly of smoke. The front desk changed it, but the next room still had an unpleasant odor. They eventually moved me to a superior room, where the smell was lighter, though it still didn’t feel fresh. The online photos make the rooms look newly furnished, but mine was old, poorly maintained, and visibly stained in several places. A wooden sliding window panel meant to block light at night also covers half the window during the day, leaving the room dark even in daylight. There were some good points. The hotel is centrally located in Incheon, with restaurants and convenience stores nearby. My room was spacious and fairly quiet. The front desk staff were polite and friendly. They didn’t speak much English, but tried to communicate with a translation app and always greeted me warmly.
