Seoubong Beach Hotel

We'd booked two rooms almost a year ahead for our family with a baby, but on arrival they offered rooms far apart. Room 2013 smelled terrible, and we couldn't sleep there with our young baby. Room 2010 wasn't much better, with tired furniture, stained surfaces, grey (white) towels and scuffed walls. After talking with the manager, no solution was offered. We found another hotel and checked out within an hour.

It's quite far from the actual Seoubong peak, despite the name, and you have to walk a bit to reach Hamdeok Beach. Parking is limited, and the place sits down a narrow stone-walled alley. There may be signs it used to be the Ramada Hotel. The rooms aren't quiet, and the towels are very worn. There are no amenities at all, not even shampoo. When I asked for an extra key, they wanted a deposit or ID. I don't think I'll stay again.

I booked through a hotel app in a rush the day before the trip. The parking lot was tiny, but the room was in excellent condition. It's in a residential area rather than on the coast, and from there I could see the ocean in the distance.

The rooms are roomy and it's great value, especially for the money. The bathroom layout is unusual and the facilities feel a bit dated. It's close to Hamdeok Beach. In the evening, walk over for Kyochon Chicken and a beer. The all-you-can-eat nachos were delicious, and so was the soup tteokbokki.
