Jeonju Mint Guest House

The staff were great, and breakfast was a nice, simple spread. The location was so good that I wouldn't stay anywhere else in Jeonju.

We loved our clean, pretty room with a bathtub and a view of the river. The hotel is really well placed, just across the bridge from Hanok Village. Breakfast was the disappointing part: it was only cheap bread and cereal, with hardly any drinks besides instant coffee, imitation orange juice, and water, as the photo shows. The morning receptionist wasn't helpful, and there was no service either.

The bathroom was clean and roomy, with a huge tub, separate shower, and an enclosed toilet with a bidet. The bed was comfortable, and the curtain opened electronically. There were two bottles of water in the fridge, though the coffee setup was minimal, just two instant coffee packets and two tea bags. The simple continental breakfast was by the drink mart. The hotel is on the south side, just across the bridge from the hanok village, with a village view and a generally quiet setting. When the road was wet, though, I could hear traffic. Google and Naver maps don't show it, but there's a G25 convenience store just east of the hotel.

Breakfast was a little underwhelming, though the lobby had fruit, cereal, and milk. The café inside the hotel was a real convenience, with plenty of choices early in the morning when most local businesses don't open until after 10 am. The hotel is right in front of Namcheon Bridge, near Cheongyeonru, a beautiful pavilion that's even more striking at night. Our spacious room had a terrace and a jacuzzi overlooking the city, and the shower pressure was incredible after a long day exploring.
