The elevator made me nervous: there are two, but only one works, and friends in my group said theirs stopped suddenly for a minute or two. They warned me not to ride it with my baby. I’d booked three nights with help from my sisters, but the hotel said there was no reservation when we arrived. I was worried, since it was my first time there and I had my baby with me. They also raised the price from 70,000 to 80,000 won a night. I paid 160,000 won for two nights, and was told breakfast came with the room. But I didn’t get breakfast either day because, they said, I wasn’t part of the group package. When I asked, they rudely told me to go upstairs and sleep, with no breakfast. On the second day, they seemed sorry and gave me two or three boiled eggs instead. I checked out properly that day. Later, they called my sister and said no one had shown up for the reservation she made. I told them I’d been in room 606 with my baby for two nights, and that I’d insisted on staying when they first said they had no booking.

The bedding was clean, which I was glad about, but the room felt disappointing for the price. The door didn’t fit properly, and there was hair on the bedside table. The cup hadn’t been washed, with a stain still on it. I also had a hard time falling asleep because of staff laughter and noise in the early morning.

The room itself was clean, but I was annoyed by the pricing. Rates started at 60,000 won, while an online booking app showed rooms starting at 50,000 won. When I asked them to match it, they said all the 50,000 won rooms were booked, and I felt they were lying. There were no drinks in the room, the air conditioner’s outdoor unit was inside and extremely loud, and the thin walls let sounds from the next room through easily.

The room was spacious compared with other motels of the same class in Innovation City, but the rest didn’t feel worth 60,000 won. There was no bidet or bathtub, and I could hear water dripping in the bathroom constantly. They provided two bottles of water, and breakfast was bread.
