Maybe I’m reading too much into it because I like the movie, but I wonder if the filmmakers meant to appease King Danjong’s spirit. Cheongnyeongpo Motel is a filming location for *Radio Star*, and it feels like the sort of place you’d visit with a big smile if you know “Rain and You.” This is where King Danjong was exiled, received poison, and became a vengeful spirit. In *Radio Star*, Park Joong-hoon also lived in a shabby inn at this same place of exile, alongside the father-like actor Ahn Sung-ki. Unlike the king, though, he didn’t become a vengeful spirit. He earned respect and made a comeback with “Rain and You.”

The facilities and furnishings are so old that this place needs a complete renovation before it can function as accommodation.

The staff are friendly, and the food is really delicious. If you make a reservation, the stone pot rice comes out quickly.
