The place was basic, with everything feeling like the minimum needed to call it a three-star hotel. Parts were run down, and some things, like the pool chairs, were a little dirty. The rooftop pool had no shade, so umbrellas would help. Outside drinks weren’t allowed around the pool, but the bar up there was closed. While we were there, the place felt like a sad, cold, run-down ghost town. The location is useful if you want or need to be near the pier, though there’s no real beach access, just rocky water access down the street. On Tuesday, we struggled to find dinner and walked for an hour and a half. The restaurants and coffee shops stayed closed the whole time. Breakfast was okay, with a decent selection. The little things added to the frustration, like getting only one glass per room and having to pay to rent towels.

We stayed three nights and had plenty of space in the room. From our bed, we had a good view of the sunrise. There are now four parking locations, so parking was ample. Staff were helpful with things like directions.

The biggest reason I wouldn’t book again is the awful fragrance in the lobby and hallways. It smelled like baby powder and fake flowers, possibly covering insecticide, and made me feel like I was choking. We skipped breakfast because of the stench. The views of the water are blocked by the building in front, and check-in at the kiosk didn’t feel friendly. The room had a nice amount of space and counter area, with a king bed and two futons, but the design caused problems. There’s a step down near the entrance and another up by the bathroom, and we tripped several times. My mother, who’s in her 80s, had trouble getting in and out of the bathtub. All three parking areas were full by 7 pm. There’s a free lot nearby, but it was inconvenient in pouring rain, especially since there was nowhere out front to load our bags. They should reserve at least one space for loading and unloading.

The staff were very helpful, and there’s easy access to food places and a 24-hour mart. We also had a nice sea view.

The location is a strong point. The hotel is in a quiet area, but easy to reach, with Bus 600, the airport-Jungmun-Seogwipo line, stopping right outside. Jeju City center and the local market are a 10-minute walk away. The hotel was clean and the rooms generally comfortable. There were several disappointments. The staff spoke very little English, which made some communication difficult, and the beds were standard size and narrow for two adults. One suite window was cracked and patched with tape. Our room wasn’t cleaned automatically. We later found out we needed to press the “Make the Room” button, but thought it was for requests outside normal hours. Clean towels were left in a plastic bag outside our door instead. Breakfast was overpriced and disappointing. At 7 am, the fruit salad was mostly frozen fruit cubes, and the guacamole tasted like overripe avocado, not fresh. I’ll give the buffet credit for having a good variety. The rooftop pool and bar were closed during our stay, which was a letdown. There were some nice points, but plenty of room to improve.
