The bed was amazing, and the shower stayed wonderfully warm the whole time. In Korea, it seems mattresses often don’t have a sheet on them. I stayed in four hostels and didn’t see one, so this was a nice change. There wasn’t anyone at reception when I visited, perhaps because it wasn’t high season. Make sure you have the entry code or can call, though the woman arrived very quickly when I contacted her. There’s one toilet for four beds, with no other toilet on that floor. Two more are in the communal area, but it wasn’t clear whether they were open. Nearby restaurants close early, so it’s a 10-minute walk to find places to eat. There’s a CU very close by.

I spent one night here while hiking the Olle Trail. The owner was a little blunt, but kind, and brought me toast in the morning. It made for a filling breakfast. I also liked that there was a water purifier on every floor and the boiler kept the water hot.

My single room was roomy and great, especially for the price. My flight was canceled, so I had to cancel and book again that same day. I was grateful the owner helped me so kindly. They checked in often to see if anything was bothering me, and I had a wonderful stay in Seongsan. I didn’t join the evening BBQ. Maybe because of Udo, there seemed to be lots of young people coming and going.

The room was clean, but the bunk bed (?) creaked loudly. There wasn’t a set lights-out time, so my roommate kept coming and going in the early morning. I woke up at 3 and again at 5. Sigh. The whole building felt humid, even in winter. Note that it’s a studio building, so rooms are assigned numbers.
