The final problem was a ₩10,000 “lost key” charge when we accidentally left our key cards in the room and asked for help opening the door. We returned both cards later, but the fee still felt unreasonable. Earlier, one of our towels went missing after housekeeping on the second day. I’d left a ₩5,000 tip as a kind gesture, yet the service seemed to get worse. We spent almost ₩2,000,000 on two rooms for five nights at Amanti Seoul Hotel, expecting a 4-star experience, but it fell well short. There were no toothbrushes at check-in, and staff said a set cost ₩1,000. The issue wasn’t the amount so much as the principle. When we asked for the charge to be waived given our long stay and spending, they changed their explanation and said it was “the law” and “environmentally friendly,” even though things around the hotel were still wrapped in plastic. There was no hospitality, the service attitude was poor, and the charges were unreasonable. We won’t return and don’t recommend it. Definitely not worth the price.

I had a very pleasant two weeks there, and the area was great and quiet, especially with a view over the pool while it was closed. I’d only change two things: the doors slam shut, so soft-close fittings would help, and it’d be good to have both hard and soft pillows to choose from.

The neighborhood is lovely, and the hotel is conveniently about a 10-minute walk from the metro. At 6am on 18 March, the front desk staff member, possibly a trainee, was especially friendly and helpful. I’d definitely stay here again when I’m back in Seoul, and recommend it to others.

The shower pressure was a little too gentle, but that was the only small issue. I slept really well in the comfortable, relaxing room, and the staff were kind and welcoming. I had a cozy stay at Amanti and would happily come back.
