BanyanTree Club & Spa Seoul

The views of Namsan Tower and the Seoul skyline were stunning day and night, and breakfast had plenty of fresh, delicious choices for all of us. The restaurant could explain the options more clearly: we heard about the set menu but not the live station. It could also plan better for the morning rush, since waiting 20-30 minutes with hungry twins was hard. I'd like to see a pay-per-entry Kids’ Club option for families who aren't members, so we could enjoy more activities at the hotel. The front desk team was warm, attentive, and especially thoughtful with my twin babies from the moment we arrived. That was the kind of hospitality traveling families hope for. Our stay at Banyan Tree Club & Spa Seoul made for a relaxing, memorable birthday celebration and a very comfortable family trip. We'd definitely return.

The club restaurant food was very good, and the staff were extremely friendly. Our room had an incredible view over Seoul. Looking forward to the next few days!

The staff were great, as customer service often is in Korea, and the people working here seemed embarrassed to explain things like the shared air conditioning setting. Beyond that, this was absolutely garbage, with no refund or cancellation options. I'm never coming back. I've stayed in hotels for a third of the price with better amenities. For the high price of a five-star hotel, the room thermostat does nothing. Maintenance told me all the rooms share an “eco friendly” air conditioning setting, so they offered me a fan instead. The air conditioning vents that barely worked were covered in dust and filth. The ceilings are very low, maybe 2.2m at most, making even Tokyo business hotels feel spacious. The pool is old, the tiles are stained, and there's rust all over the ceiling. The parking lot has only one lane for entering and exiting, so expect to wait 10 to 20 minutes behind someone who hasn't settled in advance. I've been to Busan Signiel, Daegu Marriott, and Daejeon Onoma, and they all cost less and had better amenities, without the penny-pinching shenanigans I found at Banyan. Banyan seems to be coasting on its reputation from 20 years ago and trying to squeeze out the last bit of value. The worst part was finding tiny ants crawling around the cork of the free wine they gave us when opening. That explains why it was free. There are love hotels that are clearer and better equipped. I'm baffled that anyone comes here except to make an IG post for likes.

We enjoyed our stay at Banyan Tree Seoul Gangnam with our baby. Having a jacuzzi right in the room made things safer and more fun, and the stay was comfortable overall.
