I liked the affordable stay and the staff, who were courteous and available around the clock. They cleaned the room while I was out and left fresh towels, toiletries, and bottled water each day. The room had a fast Wi-Fi connection and a smart TV with the apps I needed. There were only two outlets for charging, though, and while a hair dryer was provided, I wish there had also been a water heater. The location worked well for me, close to Suyu Station on Line 4 and the airport bus stop serving Incheon Airport. The Seoul Hiking Tourism Center (Bukhansan) was about 20 minutes away for the Baegundae Peak Circular Trail (Trail 4) in Bukhansan National Park. Check-in starts at 3 pm, but I could leave my bags at reception beforehand. The check-in itself was smooth, they only asked my name. My room had heated flooring, a firm bed, and a bathtub with hot water. I only wish the toilet had Japanese-style heating and that the bathroom walls and door offered more privacy.

Being next to Suyu station made getting to central Seoul, including the Myeongdong area, easy. The staff were friendly whenever we came and went, and they apologized right away when we found the first Junior Suite dusty, dirty, with little dead flies in the bathtub and a leaking bathroom tap. They offered us another Junior Suite immediately, and that one was clean and in much better shape. The online pictures don't really match the room, though.

I came from the USA and missed my South Korea flight after a delay, so I worried I'd lose the room I'd already paid for. When I arrived the next day at 6 am, front desk staff member KIM told me my room was ready and it was no problem. The staff are available 24 hours, and the people here are the best. I'd recommend this hotel to everyone.

The neighborhood has plenty going on, but feels much calmer than downtown Seoul. I stayed in May and felt more at peace than I had in a while. Bukhansan park is partly in view from the hotel, which was one of the reasons I booked. The airport shuttle and subway stops are just around the corner, and the rooms were clean and affordable. Staff were super friendly and helpful, and the manager also speaks English and German. One of my best hotel stays in Korea so far, and I'd recommend it to everyone. Maybe not if you're after gold-plated plinths, Michelin-star breakfasts, or stepping straight from bed into a famous shopping district. For that, I'd say Lotte Hotel Seoul.
